Berkshire’s boys’ basketball team celebrated senior night by delivering a third straight Chagrin Valley Conference Valley Division championship.
Goff led all scorers with 19 points while Smetana punched in 12. Goff also had a game-high 12 rebounds to record his ninth double-double of the season. Junior Tim Ludlow scored 16 for the Badgers. Fairport gave the Badgers all they could handle in the first half, keeping the score to within just a few points throughout most of the first and second quarters. It wasn’t until Blair’s 3-pointer just before the buzzer that the Badgers took control of the game. That trey gave Berkshire a 28-21 lead at the half. The Skippers never recovered and Berkshire cruised through the second half to win its fifth straight game. The victory improved Berkshires’ record to 10-6 overall and 9-3 in the CVC Valley Division. Berkshire travels to Kirtland on Tuesday, February 14. |
