Berkshire’s boys’ basketball team closed out its Chagrin Valley Conference schedule on Monday with a 61-43 road win at Independence to record its eighth straight victory.
Berkshire (13-6 overall and 11-3 in the CVC) connected on 8-of-15 3-pointers and shot 60-percent from the floor while holding the Blue Devils to just 44-percent. Senior Tim Goff led all scorers with 16 points and had a game-high 6 rebounds. Senior Kyle Blair added 11 points and 7 assists. The Badgers out rebounded Independence, 22-17, and forced 15 Blue Devils turnovers. Berkshire concludes its regular season Tuesday night at Grand Valley before opening post-season play on Monday, Feb. 27 at Howland High School in Warren with a game against Girard at 5:00 p.m. |

The Badgers broke open the game in the second quarter when they outscored the Blue Devils, 21-10, thanks to the hot shooting of junior Ian Monroe, who hit twice from behind the arc. Monroe hit two more threes in the second half and scored a season-high 14 points.
Charvat: Claims sectional title
