Pelletier is a RedHawk

Berkshire standout runner Matt Pelletier on Wednesday signed a national letter of intent to continue his education and athletic career at Division I Miami University in Ohio. Pelletier twice placed at the state cross country meet and was the runner up in the 3,200-meter run at last year’s state track meet.

State coaches' association honors Cole

The Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches honored Berkshire coach Julie Cole with its annual Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award at its Hall of Fame banquet on Friday. Cole, a member of her high school’s athletics hall of fame, will be inducted into Berkshire’s athletics hall of fame next month.

Badgers finish strong

After a slow start at the 2011 state cross country meet Berkshire's girls made up plenty of ground to finish in 12th place overall. In the boys' race, Matt Pelletier finished in seventh place while Nate Dornback was 20th.

State Bound!

Berkshire’s girls’ cross country team is state bound. The Badgers finished in first place at the Division III regional meet at Boardman High School on Saturday and will run in next weekend’s OHSAA state meet.

Runnin' to regionals

With a second place finish in both the boys’ and girls’ district cross country meets, the Berkshire Badgers are headed to next weekend’s regional meet at Boardman High School. Matt Pelletier finished third in the boys’ meet and Melissa Koziol was second in the girls’.
