Badgers roll into semis

Things couldn’t have gone much better for Berkshire’s wrestling team on the first night of the Division III Sectional Tournament at Beachwood on Friday. Six of seven Badgers pinned their way into Saturday’s semifinal round and are just one win away from qualifying for the district tournament.

Big day for Berkshire wrestlers

Although Berkshire went 1-1 in a home tri-meet on Wednesday, the Badgers won seven of the eight individual matches wrestled. Berkshire defeated Collinwood, 46-18, then closed out the night with a 42-36 loss to Youngstown Liberty, although the Leopards collected a total of six forfeits in the dual meet.

Three Badgers claim titles at Tuslaw

Berkshire’s Bobby Blair, T.J. Malkus and Brad Simon claimed individual championships at the 7^th Annual Tuslaw Wrestling Tournament on Saturday. Three others Badgers—Brandon VanderMaas, Cody Charvat and Jason Kaser—also placed at the event.

Wrestlers finish strong

After dropping their first dual meet of the day on Saturday Berkshire’s wrestlers kicked up their intensity and finished the Edgewood Duals on a strong note. The Badgers lost all five individual dual meets, but in considering only matches wrestled they finished 4-1 on the day.
